The SIMS Parent App (sometimes referred to as SIMS In Touch) has been successfully used by one of our partner schools as a means to communicate key information between school and parents. We are excited, and pleased, to announce that we are in a position to now launch the app at Brinsworth Academy.

Please find below instructions for installing the SIMS Parent App.

This year, the academy will be taking part in the NASEN SEND Review. The Whole School SEND Review provides a framework that enables school leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of current SEND provision through a structured self-evaluation and peer review with another school. The SEND Review Guide and peer-review process helps schools identify areas for improvement within their SEND provision, equips schools to review and create improvement plans. This evaluation process supports schools to embed a focus on SEND as a fundamental to normal school improvement practice.

In order to evaluate and reflect on our progress we need to compare the progress of pupils without SEND with those with SEND. In order to do this we need to share general information about the progress of the whole cohort of pupils inY8 and 9. Please see the links for a Parent Information Sheet and the Privacy Notice.

The Academy’s Microsoft subscription includes a licence for all students to install the full and latest version of the Office desktop suite at home free of charge.

To take advantage of this plan, you can install the Office suite on up to 5 personal computers – either PC or Mac.

This system allows you to access details on school trips being made available to your child, to make payments for them, and to add money to your child’s school food account to avoid you and the school having to deal with cash.
